Now that they've pissed away all this time, what's the projected start date? September? They could have had all eyes on MLB during this time, and they blew it. Now football will overlap so much nobody will even care. This should have all been handled a month ago.

There are no longer leagues, purely regional, if they ever play again ?

JOH, looks like football is a go for both college and NFL this season.

Are you open to running a contest as in the past?

Thanks Bud.....

Has MLB reversed itself from yesterday's good news yet?

They're overdue. Usually it doesn't even take 24 hours for these f*cksticks to come out with a
new announcement: "Uhhh, forget what we said yesterday, nobody's really in charge here."

I am now FULLY on board with them just pulling the plug. Both sides DESERVE it!

What I see is poor negotiation skills on both sides. Are they even in the SAME ROOM discussing what they would like to see. Madness

I'd like to think so. Playing it by ear hoping they don't throw us a last minute curve ball.

Theres not going to be any team sports in the near future i'm afraid. its all the rules and restrictions being handed out. coaches are saying its impossible to make it work. and for colleges its the universities more being so far to the communist left its frightening. They will refuse to allow team sports until after the election or we the people do enough to expose the hoax. Nobody knows the future but as long as leftists are allowed to order restrictions to leagues they are going to be forced to stay out of operation.

MLB rejects players union’s latest proposal, digs in on 60 games

The distance between 60 and 70, apparently, is a world apart in the twisted universe of Major League Baseball.

The MLB Players Association announced Friday night that it received word from its partners/enemies on the other side of the aisle that there would be no more going back and forth on the amount of regular-season games in the 2020 restart negotiations. Most recently, on Thursday, the PA had proposed a 70-game schedule after commissioner Rob Manfred had discussed a 60-game calendar during an in-person meeting with PA executive director Tony Clark.

“MLB has informed the Association that it will not respond to our last proposal and will not play more than 60 games,” the PA’s statement read. “Our Executive Board will convene in the near future to determine next steps. Importantly, Players remain committed to getting back to work as soon as possible.”

It's most useful to make peace w the fact that any "season" of 70 or less games is essentially just an extended exhibition

I have been a hardcore denizen of The Great Game since 1969. The team I have followed most closely for past 20 years entered 2020 seeded Top10 for World Series

But even if they played 70 games and finished in 'first place' followed by some kind of "playoff" success, I would view all of it as little more than checking out the development of younger players in preparation for 2021 & beyond

The current proposal is akin to the NFL attempting to sell fans on a 9 game regular season and a 20 team playoff tourney

If your favorite football team won such a "season" you could not possibly get truly invested

And make no mistake

Many veteran players, especially pitchers (4+ years service in midst of a multi year contract) will refuse to participate even if it means zero pay for 2020. The risk of long term injury for an exhibition season is a negative ROI
